​HOW DOES A SPRAY TAN WORK?

Spray tanning uses DHA, a sunless tanning ingredient that reacts with the outermost layer of your skin to gradually create a natural-looking bronze. No UV exposure is required.
 

HOW LONG DOES A SPRAY TAN LAST?

Most spray tans last approximately 5–7 days, depending on your skin, preparation, shower routine and how well you moisturize afterward. Keeping your skin hydrated can help your tan fade more evenly and last longer.
 

WHAT COLORS CAN I CHOOSE FROM?

Our VersaSpa booth offers two beautiful Norvell color options:

Venetian — Cool violet-brown undertones for a rich, natural-looking bronze that helps counter unwanted orange tones.

Norvell Dark — A deeper, classic bronze for a rich, warm, sun-kissed result.
 

HOW DARK CAN I GO?

Our VersaSpa booth allows you to customize your tan with 4 levels of color:

Level 1 — Light Glow
Level 2 — Medium Bronze
Level 3 — Dark Bronze
Level 4 — Double Dark

Your level determines the depth of your final color.
 

WHAT IS VENETIAN RAPID?

Venetian Rapid gives you the beautiful cool-toned Venetian bronze with a much faster rinse time.

Depending on your desired result:

1 Hour — Light Bronze
2 Hours — Medium Bronze
3 Hours — Dark Bronze

Your tan will continue developing even after you rinse.
 

HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT TO SHOWER AFTER A REGULAR SPRAY TAN?

For our regular Venetian and Dark solutions, wait a minimum of 6 hours before showering.

For the richest color development, we recommend waiting approximately 8 hours.
 

WILL MY TAN DISAPPEAR WHEN I TAKE MY FIRST SHOWER?

No. It is completely normal to see brown color washing down the drain during your first shower. This is primarily the cosmetic bronzer rinsing away.

Your actual sunless tan has developed within the outer layer of your skin and will remain after your rinse.
 

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE BEFORE MY SPRAY TAN?

For the best results:

• Exfoliate approximately 24 hours before your appointment.

• Shave or wax beforehand whenever possible.

• Arrive with clean, dry skin.

• Avoid lotion, oils, perfume, deodorant and makeup immediately before your tan.

• Wear loose, dark clothing after your appointment.
   

CAN I SHOWER RIGHT BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

You can, but ideally shower several hours beforehand rather than immediately before your session. Your skin should be completely clean, cool and dry before being sprayed.
 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AFTER MY SPRAY TAN?

Wear loose, dark clothing that will not rub tightly against your skin. Avoid tight leggings, bras, socks or restrictive shoes while your tan is developing whenever possible.
 

CAN I WORK OUT AFTER MY SPRAY TAN?

Avoid exercising, sweating, swimming or getting wet while your tan is developing.

For regular solutions, wait until after your first recommended shower. For Venetian Rapid, rinse at your selected development time and continue avoiding heavy sweating until your color has had time to fully develop.
 

CAN I USE SOAP DURING MY FIRST SHOWER?

For your initial rinse, keep it gentle.

With Venetian Rapid, use warm water only for your first rinse and avoid soap, shampoo, shaving and scrubbing until at least 8 hours after your spray tan.

For regular solutions, gently rinse away the cosmetic bronzer and avoid aggressive scrubbing or exfoliating.
 

WHY DO MY HANDS, FEET OR OTHER DRY AREAS SOMETIMES GET DARKER?

Dry areas can absorb more tanning solution. Proper preparation and following your VersaSpa positioning instructions help create a more even result.

Pay special attention to exfoliating dry areas such as elbows, knees, ankles and feet before your appointment.
 

WHEN WILL I SEE MY FINAL COLOR?

You will see immediate cosmetic color after your session, but your true sunless tan continues developing for several hours.

Do not judge your final color immediately after your first rinse. Allow the tan time to continue developing and settling into the skin.
 

WHAT DOES THE POST-TAN MOISTURIZER DO?

Our optional Post-Tan Moisturizing Treatment is applied as the final step of your VersaSpa session.

It helps hydrate and soften the skin while supporting a smoother, more even-looking fade and longer-lasting color.
 

HOW DO I MAKE MY SPRAY TAN LAST LONGER?

Moisturize every day and treat your skin gently.

Avoid excessive exfoliation, body scrubs, prolonged hot showers, frequent swimming and products that can strip or dry the skin.
 

CAN I SHAVE AFTER A SPRAY TAN?

Yes, but wait until your tan has fully developed whenever possible. Shave gently using a fresh razor and avoid repeatedly going over the same area, as shaving naturally exfoliates the skin and may cause your tan to fade faster.
 

WILL A SPRAY TAN PROTECT ME FROM THE SUN?

No. A spray tan does not provide meaningful sun protection. Continue using appropriate sunscreen and sun-protective measures when outdoors.
 

IS SPRAY TANNING UV-FREE?

Yes. Spray tanning creates cosmetic color without the UV exposure associated with traditional tanning equipment.
 

HOW OFTEN CAN I GET A SPRAY TAN?

Many clients refresh their color approximately once a week. For the most even result, allow your previous tan to fade and exfoliate thoroughly before applying a fresh spray tan.
